Philosophy

Our Core Philosophy…

My case conceptualizations draw from Psychodynamic, Object Relations, and contemporary Attachment Theories. This theoretical framework maps elegantly onto the latest research findings in the field of developmental neurobiology. The resulting treatments harness the positive impact caregivers can have on their children and are based on the therapeutic effect of the parent-child emotional connection. I also understand the profound emotional and psychological impact that having a child with special needs or emotional challenges can have in the rest of the family. With this understanding, I seek to forge meaningful, trusting relationships with the parents who are seeking help, and collaborate with them to create an emotionally containing space where healing and hope are possible.

My practice succeeds because I use research-based principles to match treatment with the unique profile of each client and the strengths of the family system, within the framework of an interdisciplinary, comprehensive approach to assessment, diagnosis, and intervention.
